The future of commerce will be driven by technology. At ITMAGINATION, our mission is to help top FMCG and retail companies increase their profit by helping them navigate that future as efficiently and effectively as possible. We do that by providing personalized recommendations for e-commerce, based on purchase preferences, online data, customer segmentation, and clickstream data, and we also help companies optimize stock replenishment by optimizing demand forecasting, inventory management, and the setting of order cycles and order quantities. All these actions are aimed at one target – helping our clients gain market share and increase profitability.

In the e-commerce sector, time passes faster than in other industries. Consumers expect a response in seconds, projects that usually take months are implemented in days, and decisions must be made instantaneously. All of this means that e-commerce companies can’t survive without modern data platforms.

Naspers
Case Study

Who are they?

Naspers is a broad-based multinational internet and media group, offering services in more than 130 countries. Its principal operations are in Internet communication (classifieds, online shopping, marketplaces, online payments, and online services), video entertainment, and print media.

The Challenge

Naspers needed a data platform that would democratize business data and provide a quality environment for advanced analytics. The solution had to be able to quickly measure business KPIs in comparison within vertical business lines between countries, while taking advantage of advanced analytics to create user profiles and build “next best action” automation.

The Solution

Our team integrated standard and modern data in a Data Lake solution, providing a modern analytical tool. We also designed and implemented a robust data ingestion and integration platform for multiple systems, while designing and implementing multidimensional models, data warehouses, reporting dashboards, and advanced analytics models. What’s more, we worked closely with Naspers in the area of Cloud solutions, integrating an Azure-based data platform with an AWS front end and data processing capabilities.

The Results

Naspers now has a flexible way to operate data on an analytical and management level.
Analysis preparation processes are cheaper, user behavior analysis has provided new opportunities for advertisement revenues, and conversion has increased thanks to better content customization.

Cost effectiveness is king in the FMCG sector, but “cost effective” no longer needs to be synonymous with “the cheapest”. Apart from standard storage and distribution services, the key to success is warehouse stock management based on expiration dates or batch numbers. This requires a modern system that scans labels on packaging and processes data. The job isn’t finished when products leave the warehouse, either – it’s absolutely vital to follow the delivery process to the customer, eliminating the possibility of human error and streamlining logistics.

What
we can do

We can take your organization in a data-driven direction by integrating all data sources. This leads to full visibility of every step, making it easier to find root causes.

Danone is a French multinational food-products corporation based in Paris and founded in Barcelona, Spain. It is a world leading food company built on four business lines: Fresh Dairy Products, Waters, Early Life Nutrition, Advanced Medical Nutrition. Danone is present in over 130 markets and generated sales of €21.9 billion in 2016, with more than half in emerging countries.

The Challenge

Multiple business areas included sales, purchase, finance, marketing, and operations provided in 11 countries in CEE and Nordics region.

ITMAGINATION team is delivering Business Intelligence solutions for Danone CEE region since 2013. Our partnership started with complete redesign of business analytics architecture with migration of multiple technologies implementations to homogenous environment based on Microsoft platform. We work closely with business key users to deliver real value to daily work and insights about market changes in each segment of Danone products. We supported all 4 streams of the group: dairy, water, nutrition and medical in 11 countries. Our team integrated internal company systems (SAP, Navision & others) with external sources such as SFA solutions, market, sell-through and sell-out data. Business users gained fast online access to reports and dashboards.

We successfully delivered over 50 BI projects. Additionally, ITMAGINATION is providing other solutions for Danone including financial planning and forecasting solutions, custom applications supporting manufacturing operations as well as data sources management and master data mapping.

The Results

Our solution improved sales planning quality for products and customers. The effectiveness of sales force operations increased. We minimized lost sales and out of stock in retail chains. Top management can make better decisions based on full analysis of income, cost and effective margin on customer and product levels.

The retail sector faces huge challenges thanks to the “always online” trend. Customers make purchases wherever and whenever they want while making decisions based on information that’s constantly available at their fingertips. In addition, retail faces the challenge of switching to an omnichannel model that places an emphasis on consistency and means that trade should no longer be divided into multiple channels.

What
